Every request is different, so we quote each job individually. Your quote reflects the underlying service and the Better Handled fee for sourcing, verification, booking, coordination, communication, and follow-through. You see the price before approving the request.

Sometimes. Sometimes it may be surprisingly close. As Better Handled develops ongoing provider relationships, we also seek preferred and volume pricing where available. Those savings can offset some or even all of our service fee. We do not promise every job will cost less than booking direct. You are paying for the complete value: sourcing, verification, coordination, provider relationships, and your time saved.

If you do not see your problem listed, ask us anyway.

The work is performed by established independent businesses and professional service providers selected for your specific request. Better Handled is not a marketplace where your job is simply posted to whoever happens to accept it first. We look for a provider appropriate to the job and verify the details that matter before we engage them.

When licensing is legally required for the work, Better Handled verifies the applicable license. When insurance is appropriate to the service being performed, we verify appropriate coverage as part of our provider-selection process. Not every legitimate service requires a professional license, so the requirements depend on the actual job.

Because a cheap job can become an expensive problem if the wrong provider damages property, gets injured, performs regulated work improperly, or cannot stand behind the work. A great-looking listing or profile does not necessarily tell you what coverage, licensing, or experience is actually behind it. Better Handled does that homework for you.

No. That is intentional. We consider price alongside qualifications, applicable licensing, appropriate insurance, experience, reputation, availability, and suitability for the particular request. Saving a few dollars is not much of a bargain if the wrong provider creates a much larger problem.

You can. Those tools are useful when you want to research and evaluate providers yourself. But finding someone willing to do a job and determining who should actually do it are different things. A listing, star rating, or cheap quote may not tell you whether a required license is active, whether appropriate insurance exists, whether the provider has the right experience, or how they will respond if something goes wrong. Better Handled exists for people who do not want to make that gamble every time something needs to get done.

No. Finding a company name is the easy part. Properly managing a real-world problem can involve determining what kind of professional is needed, evaluating providers, checking relevant qualifications, confirming availability, communicating the job correctly, arranging access, approving changes, tracking progress, and dealing with complications. Better Handled does not sell search results. We manage the problem.

Then we do not accept the job. We would rather tell you no than send someone we are not comfortable using. If we cannot find an appropriate professional provider, cannot verify something important, cannot arrange the work legally or safely, or cannot meet your timeframe, we tell you.
